Southend Liberal Democrats - Working For YouIt is election time again and going door to door, one issue comes up more than any other.
Parking has always been a problem in Leigh but this year it seems to be worse than ever. In central Leigh, residents' tempers are rising as too often they have to drive around looking for a space and end up parking too far from their home.
Many residents blame the businesses in the Broadway and Leigh Road. Clearly people who work in the shops, offices and restaurants have to park somewhere and if they can find a free place in a residential street they will stay all day.
Part of the problem is that our shops and restaurants in Leigh are so successful and attract so many customers into the town. We are all proud of this and want to support it, but it is bringing in more cars than we have parking spaces for.
