New security initiatives introduced in Old Town, Leigh-on-Sea
Carole Mulroney, Southend-on-Sea Borough Councillor for Leigh Ward & Cabinet Member for the Environment welcomed this new initiative, saying:
"This has come about after I called a meeting with Cllr Terry and officers to ensure that a plan was put in place in advance of the opening of restrictions. We are also progressing the Public Space Protection Order covering the Old Town, Cinder Path to Chalkwell and Cliffs areas.
As Chair of the Trustees of the Heritage Centre I was very pleased to offer that this could be the base for the security team.".
